✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • Pack meetings are held once a month, September through June, typically on the second Monday of the month starting at 6:30 and last 1 1⁄2 to 2 hours. See the Pack 90 website calendar for exact dates, times and locations. These details are subject to change so we encourage you to check the calendar frequently.

  • The Cub Scout Pack is organized into dens; Lion Scouts (Kindergarten), Tiger Scouts (1st grade), Wolf Scouts (2nd grade), Bear Scouts (3rd grade), Webelos (4th and 5th grade). Dens are led by parent. Each den usually meets one to two times per month for 1 to 2 hours, depending on the planned activities.

Each Den can establish its own system and schedule for conducting den meetings. Den meetings typically focus on working towards fulfilling their rank advancement requirements by the end of the year. Den meetings may also consist of going to a park or other community outing.

  • Parents have the opportunity to volunteer as a Pack Committee member. The function of the Pack Committee is largely administrative, and the offices include committee chair, treasurer, and secretary. Meetings of the Pack Committee are held once a month. Pack Committee meetings are held to discuss upcoming Pack activities. Any parent can come and participate in any Pack Committee meeting.

Parents can volunteer as a Den leader, Cubmaster, or other Pack leader role. The Cubmaster and Assistant cubmaster duties include leading and or conducting the monthly Pack meetings, guide and support den leaders, work with the Pack Committee to plan an annual Pack program, and to coordinate the Cub Scout program in the Pack. Den leader duties include planning and carry out Den meetings, lead the Den in its participation at Pack meetings, help the Cubmaster present awards during Pack meetings. Other leader opportunities include serving as Popcorn Colonel (leads our popcorn fundraiser event), Advancements chair, and registrar.

Parents can volunteer and participate in den meetings and pack meetings. We are always looking for parents to help at registration tables, set up/clean-up for events, and to assist in activities.

  • All adult members (registered or not) are required to complete Youth Protection Training. This training creates a safe environment for young people to enjoy the Cub Scout program’s activities. It also provides strategies for personal safety awareness for youth as well as adults. Certification is every 2 years.

  • Cub Scouts are expected to wear their Class “A” uniform (cap, neckerchief, neckerchief slide, and shirt) to all den and pack meetings. Some activities may specify a Class “B” uniform (cub scout t-shirt). Each scout should also own a handbook for their level (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos). The Pack will provide a neckerchief and class B shirt. All other uniform and handbooks should be purchased through the BSA Online Scout Shop

For more information see the “Uniform Guide” above.

  • We hold a popcorn sale in the fall to raise funds for scholarships and scouting events.
